Almost three years ago, the BEFuture consortium set out to gather the business events community and harness bright ideas to help tackle some of the sectors’ key challenges. Mission accomplished!
The BEFuture project, funded by the European Union’s Single Market Programme, aimed to strengthen the sustainability, digitalisation and resilience of SMEs in the business event sector.
This collaboration delivered tangible progress at different levels:
- SME-led projects delivered 80 innovative solutions to make business events more sustainable, inclusive and resilient. From smart cloakrooms to real-time transcription and even green toilets: virtually every aspect of an event’s life cycle has been addressed with a fresh perspective.
- The project helped build a vibrant community of business event professionals, innovators and other experts from connected fields. They connected to learn, share knowledge, exchange and break new ground together.
Building connections, being heard
As the consortium’s communication partner, Tipik designed a targeted strategy to get the message out and build connections at every step of the way.
We developed a series of webinars on leading topics – from future scenarios to legacy building
We created the virtual marketplace that served as a communication hub and facilitated networking.
We engaged the BEFuture community at key moments through content production and dissemination on social media, via email marketing and earned media.
Collaboration that lives on
Performance exceeded expectations: between project kick-off in 2023 and closing in 2026, we engaged over 600 small businesses in our activities. The online platform received over 50 000 visits, while followers on Linkedin reached over 1300.
Last month, BEFuture proudly received the 2026 IMEX-EIC Innovation in Sustainability Award. It recognised “outstanding collaborative innovation driving a greener, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for the business events industry.”
The transformation is set to continue – and we are all a part of it!
