Question

How do you help frustrated drivers get their head around parking rules in Brussels?

Answer

Create one site with easy-to-access information by local area.

Red zones, green zones, blue zones: working out which rules apply where in what local authority can be a nightmare for time-poor drivers in Brussels. Getting it wrong can also result in fines. Good parking practices are vital though to improve mobility in the busy city. They free up space and mean people can make the most of shops and facilities in the areas in which they live, work and visit.

Our mission: overhaul an existing site to create a new one-stop shop for parking in areas run by the city’s local authorities. Our IT team completely rebuilt the site’s structure to create three main sections:

  • Rules by local authority
  • Access to documents to apply for permits
  • Information of smart parking tools

Our team then rebuilt the site in Drupal in French and Dutch.

Information on different rules is available at a glance by local authority down to street level. Interactive maps guide users through the maze of streets that make up Europe’s capital.

Whether you’re a newcomer to Brussels or not this site makes getting to grips with where and how long you can park easier.
